Communications have been in the heart of Google for long time. In 2007 a screen shot was found here (later taken down) of Google Talk with a dial pad.

As of today Google talk still does not have this feature. Then later that year Google buys Grandcentral More Information. Invites were closed and people thought in early 2009 that it would be a project that never went through. Then it was publicly made that it was renamed Google Voice and had new features. Then in November of 2009 Google buys Gizmo5 More Information. Looks like the screen shot above from 2007 will become a reality.
Happy Birthday Firefox and Nikki!

A company that started in 1994, bought by Yahoo in 1999 that allowed you to create you’re free website will shut down tomorrow. It was a place where i can find many sites years ago when i would be searching in Google. Geocities made history and now i say Goodbye.

FriendFeed the real-time feed aggregator that consolidates the updates from social media and social networking websites, social bookmarking websites, blogs and micro-blogging updates, as well as any other type of RSS/ Atom feed got bought by the Big Boy Facebook.
The startup company by Mark Zuckerberg a Harvard alumni has bought Friendfeed today and the founders and engineers are all former Google employees who were involved in the launch of such services as Gmail and Google Maps. They include Paul Buchheit, Jim Norris, Sanjeev Singh and Bret Taylor. The power of real time feed and x Google employees in Facebook hands will change Facebook and its features. Let’s see how tough this one gets. Myspace the start up company created by Mr.Tom Anderson now is releasing email. With email it will be able to drag users back to Myspace which was really hot before the thought of Facebook came into existence. I think that if this feature was rolled out years before Facebook would have grown into another xanga and aim’s popularity would have been nada nothing with Myspace IM. Don’t forget the most users are Teenagers which gives these sites rise of power and popularity all over the world.
